Local MP, Priti Patel, celebrates World Book Day 2017 with schools across her constituency by highlighting the joys of reading between children and parents.
“World Book Day aims to help children explore the pleasure of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own. I am pleased to see so many schools in my constituency taking part by putting on special activities.
Reading for pleasure is extremely important for learning and early development as it helps foster greater imaginations while improving core academic skills. Good literacy skills are vital in ensuring young people are prepared for employment and the variety of challenges adult life brings.”
