Rivenhall Incinerator Campaign

3rd July 2017

Witham MP Priti Patel has met with campaigners opposed to the Rivenhall Incinerator in Coggeshall to discuss the Environment Agency's latest consultation on the incinerator's environmental permit application. The Environment Agency has said it is minded to approve the current application and is undertaking a public consultation before making a final decision. Priti met the local campaigners at a consultation information event in Coggeshall and said:

"The Rivenhall Incinerator's licensing and planning stages continue to cause serious alarm and concern to local residents. This facility will pollute our environment and the constant changes that have been made to its design and purpose since it was originally granted planning permission in 2010 have increased local anxieties."

"I have been working with local campaigners to oppose this development and the latest environmental permit application is not good enough. Strong representations will be made to oppose this application."
