Rail Access

31st July 2017

Local MP Priti Patel is calling on Abellio Greater Anglia to take action to ensure that all railway stations in the Witham constituency provide step-free access for passengers. After meeting with a constituent in a wheelchair who has difficulties commuting to Hatfield Peverel and Kelvedon railway stations Priti said:

"I have campaigned for improvements to rail services since being elected including better access for disabled passengers. It is frustrating and inconvenient for commuter in wheelchairs to have limited or no step-free access to all platforms at local railway stations and action needs to be taken. With the rail franchise recently being renewed and a growing population, I am keen to see the train operator Abellio working closely with other stakeholders to secure the investment necessary to modernise our stations and make them step-free."
