Parliament Week

20th November 2017

Local MP Priti Patel marked Parliament Week by visiting the 1st Blackwater Scout Group based in Tollesbury on Friday (17 November 2017). Priti spoke to the group about being a Member of Parliament and the importance of participating in democracy. Priti said:

"I was delighted to visit the scouts in Tollesbury and discuss Parliament and democracy with them. They were a very knowledgeable group and I am pleased that they had such a strong level of interest in democracy and Parliament."

"Parliament Week gives people a chance to engage in our democratic process and highlights the way that people and Parliament can influence positive change. Over 4,500 organisations from across the country took part in Parliament Week this year and it was wonderful that the scouts in Tollesbury could be a part of this."
