Local MP, Priti Patel, is encouraging local businesses to offer apprenticeships by promoting amongst employers the Government’s flagship campaign, ‘Get In Go Far’ – a campaign to drive the importance of apprenticeships amongst small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and students.
There is now 899,400 funded apprentices – a record national level – and recent analysis shows 96% of SMEs reporting at least one business benefit to hiring an apprentice as well as helping to win business and increase productivity. 90% of all apprentices manage to stay in paid employment after their scheme ends. Priti commented:
“Under a Conservative Government, apprenticeships have flourished and only the Conservatives understand that small and medium businesses are the backbone of the British economy.
There has never been a better time to employ an apprentice, or start an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships give people of all ages and backgrounds a ladder of opportunity to get the skills they need to have a successful career.
Apprenticeships make good business sense for Witham because the employer can shape their training to provide skills tailored to that business and the apprentice can bring fresh ideas to stimulate innovation, helping the company to bridge a skills gap and stimulate growth.
If you are considering taking on an apprentice in your business, please get in contact with me and I will be happy to assist you in exploring your options.”
