Incinerator

12th September 2017

Witham MP Priti Patel has expressed her disappointment at the decision from the Environment Agency to issue an environmental permit for the proposed Rivenhall Incinerator. Last year the permit application had been refused by the EA and planning consent is still needed for a newly designed chimney stack for the proposed facility.

Priti said:
“The decision to grant a permit for the incinerator is deeply disappointing. Thousands of local residents will be upset by this decision and remain concerned about the impact of this site. The incinerator is not welcome in this location and there remain many issues that have not been addressed.”
