Broomfield A&E

14th June 2017
Local MP, Priti Patel, welcomes the announcement that Broomfield Hospital has been successful in its bid to secure £3 million to improve capacity in the Accident and Emergency Department.

Because of a strong and growing economy, the Government announced in the Spring Budget 2017 an additional £100 million cash injection to support hospital A&E Departments. The NHS intends for this additional funding to be used to build capacity on hospital sites that will improve patient pathways and primary care services. Priti commented:

“I am delighted that the Broomfield Hospital bid to secure £3 million for A&E has been successful.

Whilst other candidates talked about the NHS during the 2017 General Election, I was actively giving my support to Broomfield and their plans to expand local emergency services.

Now that I am re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Witham, I will continue to work with local hospitals to prioritise my constituent’s healthcare needs and ensure patients continue to have access to high quality NHS services.”
