Braintree Local Plan

24th July 2017

Witham MP Priti Patel is calling on residents to have their say on Braintree District Council's draft Local Plan. The draft Local Plan gives details of the Council's proposals to increase housing in the District over into the 2030s and includes proposing development sites including new garden communities. The consultation closes on 28 July 2017 and Priti said:

“The Local Plan will be the main planning policy document for the District so it is vital that everyone has their say and lets the Council know their views. The Plan proposes significant levels of new housing development as well as outlining the future economic needs of the area. Communities will be changed by the proposals and it is important that people understand what this will mean for them.

“As well as giving details of preferred future development sites, the Local Plan presents an opportunity to protect valued parts of our countryside and green spaces. I have been clear to Braintree District Council that they need to listen to all views and ensure that figure plans include new infrastructure, public services and high quality amenity spaces.”
